Metro Red Line stabbing suspect arrested

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES — Deputies announced on Wednesday that an arrest was made in the fatal stabbing of a 59-year-old man on the Metro Red Line in Hollywood.

Authorities said 33-year-old Gene Sim was found in Buena Park and arrested without incident on Tuesday night. Deputies say he is a transient.

Sim allegedly stabbed Jesse Garay of North Hollywood after an altercation on Friday night at the Metro Red Line station at 6250 Hollywood Boulevard.

Todd Martens was one of many commuters on board who was witnessed the incident.
