Two reputed gang members were jailed and four others were booked into juvenile hall after a fracas on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

According to Sgt. Dave Pedersen, of the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department Valley substation, at around 4:30 p.m., members of the Sonoma Valley Gang Task Force saw a 17-year-old documented gang member walking with some other youths on Highway 12 and Calle del Monte. The youth was sporting a red T-shirt and a red bandana. Well, it seems the youth is on probation and among the terms of his probation was that he not wear gang attire nor associate with gang members.

Pedersen said the youth also had pictures of himself flashing gang signs on his cell phone. The deputies took the teen to the Valley substation where they cited him for violating his probation and released him at about 5:30 p.m.

At about 6 p.m., deputies received a call about someone getting hit in the face with a rock in the vicinity of Riverside Drive and Verano Avenue.

The victim, who is also a reputed gang member, told deputies he was walking with some friends, when someone shouted some gang slogans at him. The victim confronted the loudmouth who promptly took off.
