LOS ANGELES — A 14-year-old boy was killed by two men as he rode his bike in broad daylight near his home in South Los Angeles on Saturday, police said.
Byron Lee, was first wounded by the gunmen and then pleaded for his life before the suspects shot him dead, police said.
Authorities said Lee was on his bike when two men in a passing car opened fire and wounded him.
Witnesses told police the men then stopped the car, got out and shot Lee several more times as the boy pleaded for his life. Police told NBC 4 the boy was shot 19 times.
Lee’s mother said the boy spent most of the day Saturday helping to clean the house before taking the bike ride.
His mother said her other son died last year of a rare form of cancer.
No motive for the attack was given.
