SANTA ROSA (BCN)

Santa Rosa police arrested six people Friday night and another early this morning for allegedly taking part in a gang-related stabbing earlier Friday evening.

The stabbing was reported at about 6:40 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex at 2120 Jennings Ave., police said.

Arriving officers found a 20-year-old Santa Rosa resident in the parking lot with several stab wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, and later released, according to police.

Police located two possible suspects near the scene who fled on foot and were not found after a search that was assisted by a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department helicopter and Santa Rosa police canine unit.

Investigators from the police department’s Gang Crimes Team learned that the victim was followed to his home and assaulted by several members of a street gang.

At about 9:45 p.m., police located an apartment used by the suspects and detained an 18-year-old Santa Rosa man and five teenage boys as suspects in the case.

Pedro Martinez and the five juveniles were booked into the Sonoma County Jail and face charges of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, participation in a criminal street gang, and participation in a gang crime, according to police.

Another suspect was arrested at about 1 a.m. this morning when officers went to break up a party in a vacant house on Courtyard Circle.

Police found Martin Camacho, a 19-year-old Santa Rosa man, who was taken to a local hospital with what appeared to be puncture wounds to his torso. Detectives arrested Camacho at the hospital for the same charges as the other six suspects, police said.
