VAN NUYS – A 19-year-old Pacoima gang member was convicted Friday of robbing six people in a week across the San Fernando Valley, then ramming a car into the vehicle of a detective who caught him in the act.
David Cesar Santos could face 45 years in prison when he’s sentenced Nov. 2, Deputy District Attorney Garrett Dameron said.
His accomplice, 23-year-old Christopher Rosalio Morales, faces the same sentence. Morales pleaded no contest to the same six robberies and one attempted robbery, plus a robbery in November 2010 that did not involve Santos, Dameron said.
The jury that convicted Santos of robbery, attempted robbery and assault on a peace officer also found gang allegations true.
The prosecutor said Santos was a member of the Pacas 13 gang, while Morales was part of one called Pacoima Criminal.
The six robberies and one attempted robbery the two did together were between June 14 and 21, 2011.
