Three young men were shot, one critically, today as they sat near a bus stop at Tampa Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard in Reseda in what police say might have been a gang-related incident.

Officer Jason Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department said the victims — Latinos ranging in age from 18 to 20 — were taken to local hospitals after the shooting, which was reported just before 4 p.m.

One victim was shot in the head and was in “extremely critical condition,” Lee said. The other two had superficial wounds and were in stable condition.

Police said a maroon or red van pulled up next to the men. Several shots were fired, and then the van sped away.

“If it becomes a homicide,” Lee said, “the investigation will probably go all night.”
