3 males arrested on gang related charges

Two adult males and a male juvenile were arrested Wednesday, after Porterville police officers were dispatched to a stabbing that had reportedly just occurred.

The incident took place at about 11:45 p.m., in the 1700 block of West Olive Avenue.

Arturo Corona,19, Pedro Aguilar Corona,19, and a 16-year-old male juvenile were reportedly identified by the victim, authorities report.

The victim, whose name was not disclosed, reportedly sustained minor stab wounds to the abdomen, authorities report.
Officers were told by the victim that he had interrupted what he thought was a vehicle burglary in progress and he was assaulted by two males.

He was transported to Sierra View Hospital for treatment, however the victim’s wounds did not appear to be life threatening.

The victim was able to provide a description of the suspects.

At about 2 a.m. Thursday, another Porterville police officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near the intersection of Prospect Street and Westfield Avenue.

During a search of the vehicle, a club and several fixed bladed knives were reportedly found inside of the vehicle.

The officer also allegedly located a small amount of methamphetamine inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

The above suspects were inside of the vehicle when it was stopped.
Arturo Corona and Pedro Corona matched the description provided by the victim.

After viewing photographs of the suspects, the victim positively identified them as the suspects who had assaulted him. All of the suspects reportedly wore attire consistent with membership in a criminal street gang.

The suspects were subsequently booked into Tulare County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon/participation in a criminal street gang/possession of a controlled substance/possession of a prohibited weapon

The juvenile suspect was reportedly charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and released on a citation to his parents.
