SANTA ANA – Gang-detail officers are providing extra patrol Thursday in the area of West Camille Street after a confrontation between a large crowd and police officers Wednesday evening, authorities said.

Shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, an Orange County Fire Authority crew responding to a medical call in the 3300 block of West Camille Street requested police assistance, telling dispatchers that two men were harassing them while they were trying to attend to a patient, Cmdr. Steve Colon said.

As a result, three men and a juvenile were arrested, said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

Santiago Johnny Aviles, 22, of Santa Ana, was arrested on suspicion of interfering with fire personnel at an emergency scene, disobeying a gang-injunction court order, participating in a street gang, and tampering and malicious mischief to a fire department vehicle.
