REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — A Redwood City man was arrested in Southern California Thursday, the fifth teenager to be arrested in connection with a gang-related stabbing in Redwood City earlier this month, police said.

Jose Segura, 18, of East Palo Alto, was located in Anaheim and arrested for attempted murder, according to Redwood City police.

Segura was being questioned regarding his involvement in the stabbing, which took place Dec. 13 in the 800 block of Brewster Avenue at about 4:35 p.m., police said.

The victim, a 19-year-old Redwood City man, suffered several stab wounds in the abdomen, police said. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition but survived his injuries.

Witnesses reported seeing several suspects who got out of a tan or gold four-door car and stabbed the victim before fleeing, police said.

Three suspects were contacted on Dec. 14 and arrested after they made statements about their involvement in the stabbing, police said.
