711wcovinaWEST COVINA, Calif. (CNS) — A Pomona man was found shot to death and another man wounded today outside a 7-Eleven store in West Covina, police said.

Ivan Munoz, 24, was found “severely injured” and later pronounced dead around 1:45 a.m. in a vehicle in a parking lot in front of the 7-Eleven at 2887 E. Valley Blvd., said Lt. Tommy Garcia of the West Covina Police Department. A second man was also found injured and taken to a hospital.

“We don’t really know what happened except a vehicle came to rest in front of the 7-Eleven,” Garcia said. “The driver was deceased and the passenger was injured but we don’t know where it all began.”

Investigators believe the men may have been shot in the parking lot of the Margarita Jones Mexican Restaurant located at 1125 West Covina Parkway and the victims fled.

The passenger was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries, Garcia said. His current condition was unknown.

No suspect information was available.

Detectives asked anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the West Covina Police Department at (626) 939-8557.
