PACOIMA – A 22-year-old man was killed Sunday morning just blocks away from where three men were shot hours later, making for a violent weekend of gang-related fighting.

Abraham Guerrero of Pacoima was shot dead in the torso at 2 a.m. Sunday in the 12500 block of Correnti Street, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

Guerrero was outside with some friends when a car pulled up and words were exchanged. A passenger in the vehicle then pulled out a gun and shot Guerrero, who died at the scene, said Officer Julianne Sohn, Los Angeles Police Department.

Four blocks away from the deadly scene, three men were shot at 10:15 a.m. in the 12200 block of Osborne Place.

Two were transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. One had been shot in the back. The other took a bullet in the thigh.

A third man with multiple gunshot wounds was driven to Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar. All are in stable condition.

The three men had been travelling in two vehicles to meet a friend, when they became lost on Osborne Street, two miles east Interstate 5, said Sgt. Sherri Egan.

They pulled over to call the person they were meeting. But while on the phone, they suddenly found themselves under gunfire and “everyone took off running,” Egan said.

Police said the suspects may have escaped in a Toyota Tundra pickup.
