Two people were shot and killed in unrelated incidents Saturday and this morning.

Two men were in a vehicle near West 4th and South Boylston streets in Westlake about 2 a.m. today when someone walked up to their car and shot both in the torso, said Officer Sara Faden of Los Angeles Police Department. Both men, who appeared to be in their 20s, were taken to a hospital. One of them, Jerome Downs, a 21-year-old black man, later died there.

Saturday afternoon, Keith Dwayne Moore, 20, was shot and killed in the 1600 block of 55th Street in Central-Alameda, authorities said.

Moore was riding his bicycle on the street when he was confronted by a man on foot who shot him multiple times, Faden said. Moore was left on the street and was later pronounced dead.

The shooter fled the scene and remains at large, Faden said.
