A man has been acquitted of stabbing a man in the Dodger Stadium parking lot after the team’s home opener last April.

A Los Angeles Superior Court jury deliberated about a day before acquitting Arthur Anthony Alvarez of blankault with a deadly weapon on Monday.

The 32-year-old was initially charged with attempted murder but the judge dismissed that count after the prosecution presented its case.

His attorney, Deputy Public Defender Kate Hardie, said her client was knocked to the ground and acted in self-defense.

Alvarez has been in jail since he was arrested in May and was ordered released immediately.
