Three men were arrested early Wednesday after firing a gun at a home in Val Verde in what sheriff’s deputies called a gang-related drive-by shooting.
Juan Navarro, 21; Jacob Cecena, 23; and Saul Martinez, 22, were arrested after the shooting just after midnight in the 29000 block of Val Verde Road, said Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
No one was injured in the shooting.
The three had used a Chevy pick-up truck in the crime and were suspected members of a local Latino gang, officials said.
No other details were released Wednesday as sheriff’s detectives were still investigating the crime.
Val Verde — a tiny, rural community west of Castaic with a population of less than 2,000 — has seen a spate of violence in past years. Since September 2007, at least three people have been shot to death there.
