Candle light vigil for Rolland “Rocky” Miller turns out hundreds of friends

Tuesday evening, hundreds of Rolland “Rocky” Miller’s friends paid tribute to him in front of the family home where he was killed. Last Friday Miller, 44, was shot and killed by an unknown acquaintance in what appears to be a robbery. Although Miller was from the neighborhood, Miller was not active gang member and his shooting had nothing to do with gangs.
The motive appears to be a personal dispute that escalated to a robbery, and there is absolutely no evidence that gang identity play a role in the shooting. Miller was known throughout Southern California by people from all segments of society including Crips, Bloods and Mexicans. He was the co-founder of Hogg Life, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle club, and has been instrumental in several gang intervention organizations including UnityOne, and 2nd Call.

I was just at the viewing, and it was so so sad, to see a Peace maker laying there. It hurts to see Rocky’s kids have to go through this pain. The only thing left to do now is catch the killer. Someone out there knows what happened. Please come forward for the family.

this is charles, justin’s big brother and simone’s little brother, this is going to rozlyn and rolanda, and mr and mrs miller. i just found out today by freak accident(7/26), I live out in california city, ca in the east mojave desert going on 2 years. im 40 and will be 41 this nov 22nd,i got a daughter thats 13, this is also going out to jesse beamons, the homey goofy from 20′s, thats my loved one, cool boy,tray kay,and the homey crazy b, this the homey charlie. my people’s stayed on the corner of 23rd and juliet, to the miller family, rozalyn and rolanda, i had a premenition about this 2 days ago, i believe rocky visited me, i cant tell u how hurt i am because u know we was family, he protected me, he raised me, he taught me all kinds of things, especially how to build dirt bikes. rozalyn and rolanda, remember how i used to always come over to the basement, all through the 70′s and 80′s and work on them dirt bikes and low riders. i want you all to know that im going to spend the rest of my life mourning that man’s death and praying for you all. im coming home asap to visit you all. mrs miller i hope you hold on to the memories of your son. know ur son is alright. he loved the lord even tho he didnt go to church anymore, only a few people really knew rolland, only a few. i want you to know that he looked out for me, justin, jessie, tanay, keith, kelly, he kept us away from the gangs. taught us martial arts. i just want you all to know i love ya’ll and i just want everybody to know he was a gangster with a heart and a conscience and he loved god and he tried to stop the violence.

HarrdTimes you should become a detective because I have been following all post associated with Rocky that have been on Street Gangs, FB and all others sites since the terrible loss of him, and i’ve noticed that you have consistently been on top of everything correlating to Rocky, and I appreciate that!
