It’s almost 6 months now since the LA Times Homicide Report Blog was revamped in January. The report originally debuted in 2007 in order to tell untold stories of victims of homicides in the city. Nicole Santa Cruz is the reporter who updates the site with lists of names of these victims.

This week’s lists 12 new homicides as well as updates on three older cases.
The ages of the 12 victims range from as young as 15 to as old as 57 years old. The homicides span across LA County and most were killed by a gun.

The three older cases date back to 2009, with one victim as young as 3 years old. These three cases tell us that the assailants were all sentenced in the homicide crime.

The report lists names and brief details about the crime and victim as possible. Sometimes there aren’t much known but anyone is urged to contact the authorities if they have any information that would be helpful in finding the assailant and even giving the family some solace in the loss of a loved one.
