NYPD sergeant acquitted in Deborah Danner’s death

An NYPD sergeant was acquitted of all charges Thursday in the fatal shooting of an emotionally disturbed Bronx woman armed with a baseball bat.

Bronx Supreme Court Judge Robert Neary cleared NYPD Sgt. Hugh Barry in the Oct. 18, 2016, death of Deborah Danner, 66, who was shot twice after a seconds-long standoff with the cop in her Castle Hill bedroom.

The eight-year NYPD veteran sat stoically as Neary announced his verdict in the bench trial. The victim’s sister Jennifer Danner raised her eyebrows slightly as the officer was cleared in the kil#i*gg.
