Los Angeles deputy arrested for smuggling drugs in a burrito

Henry Marin appears in an episode of the Fox reality television show, "The Academy."

LOS ANGELES – Last month a Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy was arrested for smuggling drugs into a jail facility. Henry Marin, 27, surrendered to his colleagues at the South Los Angeles station after he was informed of the charges.

Marin pleaded not guilty to charges related to the contraband and was terminated from his job. He was released from custody on $25,000 bail.

Marin is alleged to have smuggled heroin in a bean and cheese burrito into the courthouse jail.

In 2007, Marin, was featured on the Fox reality show “The Academy,” and was kicked off for poor performance. Marin received poor grades on the show and was consistently criticized for having a lack of judgment.
