Video: Los Angeles cop accused of on-duty sexual assault
April 10, 2010
LOS ANGELES – An L.A. County police officer has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman while on duty.
Michael Dee Clark was arrested about 8 p.m. Thursday — about a week after the alleged crime was reported, said CHP Officer Travis Ruiz.
“On April 1, 2010, the California Highway Patrol received a call from a local news outlet indicating they had received a phone call from a woman who claimed to be the victim of a sexual assault at the hands of an on-duty law enforcement officer,” Ruiz said.
Officials believe the assault occurred near the interchange of the San Diego and Glenn Anderson freeways, but details of the alleged attack were not released.
Clark, who was arrested at work, was booked on suspicion of assault under color of authority, Ruiz said.
Investigators believe there may be other victims.
Anyone victimized in a similar attack — or who may have witnessed such a crime — is urged to call the CHP at (323) 259-2010.
