Calif. cop charged after video captures ‘excessive force’ in DUI arrest

A California police officer faces criminal charges after dashcam video captured alleged ‘excessive force’ during a DUI arrest.

Brad Alford, an officer in the Sacramento suburb Rocklin, was arrested Tuesday for his actions Sunday morning, when he took a suspect into custody with the use of his baton.

Police said that Alford used his weapon “in a manner that appeared to be excessive,” and that other officers reported the incident afterwards.
