Cops Arrest Gang Member After Car Chase

Pursuit Spans Several SoCal Freeways


gang member nabbedVAN NUYS, Posted 6:10 p.m. April 5, 1999 -- A reputed gang member is behind bars today after leading Los Angeles police on a chase in a car, then on foot.

Police chased 25-year-old Jeraldo Gomez and a passenger in a black Honda on the San Diego (405) and Ronald Reagan (118) freeways just after noon Monday, reported CBS 2 News.

Gomez got off the freeway, brought the car to a stop near Langdon Avenue and Nordhoff Street and ran through an apartment complex. Police took chase and arrested Gomez a few minutes later.

Gomez was treated for injuries suffered during his arrest, then booked for a parole violation and suspicion of driving a stolen car, said CBS 2 News.

The unidentified passenger was released.
