Los Angeles, CA - During the early morning hours of November 22, 2002 a search warrant was served at the house of Antwain Butler, who is a suspect in the murder of Clyve Jackson, 14, who was murdered on the 4400 block of South Western Avenue on November 21, 2002. Butler, 17, according to LAPD, is a member of a known street gang and is responsible for this shooting. Those that know both Butler and Jackson, do not characterize Butler as a person who should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. They further challenge the media reports of Mr. Jackson, who has been described as the innocent victim of a senseless murder. People from the area believe that Jackson was gang affiliated and went by the moniker "Baby Bug" and may have provoked the shooting that led to his death.
So far Butler has not surrendered, but has been in contact with LAPD and his immediate family since November 22, 2002, and has plans to turn himself over to authorities. There were reports that he was going to surrender over the weekend but LAPD is still looking for him. Jackon's murder was the 595th of the year and there were 6 witnesses to the shooting.
