NORTHWEST GLENDALE — Three men are scheduled to be arraigned next month on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly attacking a boy through the window of his truck.
Edmond Beginyan, 19, and Pavel Khachoyan, 19, both of Glendale, and Vahe Melekyan, 18, of Tujunga, were released Saturday on $30,000 bail each after they allegedly punched a 16-year-old Glendale boy, according to police reports. Witnesses told police they saw Beginyan with a small, black-handled knife.
Two Glendale Police gang unit detectives were nearby Friday when they noticed the three men get out of their 2002 Lincoln Navigator in front of the 2001 Ford Ranger pickup truck, police said. The two vehicles were stopped at a red light on Burchett Street, just west of Pacific Avenue.
The three men allegedly approached the truck and punched the boy through the window. The boy's nose was broken in the attack and he was taken to Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale Police spokeswoman Officer Leticia Chang said.
The attack might have been gang-related, Chang said.
The three men are scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 30.
