Police said today that four men were injured in what appeared to be a gang-related shooting late Tuesday outside a home in Pacoima.
The men were in front of the house in the 12000 block of Wingo Street when unknown assailants, apparently on foot, opened fire on them with a 9-millimeter handgun at about 11:45 p.m., said Sgt. Scott Kennedy of the Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill Station.
Fifteen shots were fired. One man suffered a wound to the neck, another was hit in the side, a third was injured in the thigh and the fourth in the lower leg, Kennedy said. None of the wounds were life-threatening.
Two of the victims were taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills and the others were taken to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley, Kennedy said.
Police are treating the incident as a "suspected gang-related shooting," he said.
Kennedy did not identify the victims, but he said they were all Latino men in their mid- to late 20s and included one confirmed gang member. He did not specify the gang.
Police could not immediately say how many assailants were involved, and they did not have any suspects.
"Everyone that had been shot was very uncooperative," Kennedy said.
