Likely gang shooting wounds bystanderBy Holly J. Andres, Staff Writer Updated: 12/10/2008 12:16:21 PM PST
CANOGA PARK - A possible gang shooting left an innocent bystander injured as he was leaving a liquor store with a companion, police said today.
The shooting occurred before 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 8900 block of De Soto Avenue.
Police said that prior to the shooting, three men were reportedly arguing at the Schoonerville restaurant and took their argument with them as they drove away separately.
A male was grazed in the head after one of two suspects shot at him from a dark compact car. The driver victim was taken to Northridge Medical Center in stable condition.
The bystander was also taken to a local hospital in stable condition, said Lt. Mike O'Donnell from Devonshire Division of the Los Angeles Police
Department.
Police did not know whether the shooting was related to an earlier shooting in which a man was shot in the leg just before 6 p.m. Tuesday outside of Vallarta Market near Reseda Boulevard and Chase Street in Northridge. The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
