Four alleged gang members were jailed today for the
Thanksgiving Day shooting of a woman in Pasadena, police said.
Horacio Guiterrez, 25; Jose Barrera, 26; and Jose Rivera and Hector Ornelas, both 28, are
charged with one count each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm involving the Nov.
27 shooting, according to Pasadena police.
The charges include the allegation that the crime was "committed for the benefit of, at the
direction of, and in association with a criminal street gang with the specific intent to
promote, further and assist in criminal conduct by gang members."
The 26-year-old woman was shot numerous times in the 700 block of Manzanita Avenue, and is
recovering from her wounds, according to police.
The four men have pleaded not guilty and are due back in Pasadena Superior Court
on Dec. 17, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require them to stand trial.
