LA HABRA -- Five men were arrested in a gang sweep organized by the La Habra Police Department on Thursday morning at locations throughout Southern California.
Beginning at about 5:30 a.m., search warrants were served at fourteen different locations with the help of 130 officers from 12 different law enforcement agencies, La Habra Police officials said.
Ignacio Espinoza, 24, Miguel Alvarez, 27, Miguel Alatorre, 20, David Perez, 23,and Luis Garcia, 21, all of La Habra, were all arrested in the sweep, officials said.
Charges ranged from probation violations to possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell.
The sweep was prompted after two recent gang-related shootings in the city left two teenage boys critically injured, officials said. However, police are still searching for the alleged shooters.
Joining La Habra police in the sweep were officials from the U.S. Marshal's Office, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, The California Department of Justice, the California Department of Corrections, the ProActive Methamphetamine Task Force, and several local police and Sheriff's department's.
