LA city attorney seeks gang injunction at schoolThe Associated Press Posted: 06/16/2009 04:44:59 PM PDT
LOS ANGELES—Los Angeles' top prosecutor has asked for a gang injunction to restrict the activities of four gangs around a high school. City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo filed the proposed injunction Tuesday in Superior Court that would cover about two square miles around Fremont High School in South Los Angeles. The proposed order would include a nighttime curfew for gang members and prevent them from being on the streets during school hours. The injunction targets a Bloods gang, two Crips gangs and a Latino gang that Delgadillo says have terrorized students. Delgadillo, who is termed out of office at the end of the month, has deployed 41 gang injunctions across the city. The civil lawsuits ban those named on them from meeting in public, wearing gang colors and engaging in gang behavior.
