Avenues Gang is dealt a second federal indictment – Is Gang Finally Dismantled?

STREETGANGS.COM | June 30, 2013

Highland Park -The Federal government claims that they have dismantled the following gangs, the Avenues in Northwest LA, the Harlem 30s Crips in South LA, Langdon Street in the San Fernando Valley and Varrio Hawaiian Gardens in South East LA County.

Using RICO federal statutes, the government along with local law enforcement have been using massive suppression tactics to arrest gang members, sometimes for minor quantities of drugs, but the mandatory minimum sentences are huge. The press conference was held on September 23, 2009.
