my power rankings go

tier 1
Lakers
Boston
New Orleans

tier 2
Lebrons
Rockets - healthy Yao

If the lakers keep key players healthy and Bynum puts up a 15/10/1 average they should be the favorites out of the west.

Sixers WILL do the unbelievable and make it to the second round tho.
THATS A FACT!!!!!!!

I've had a chance to check out all of the games so far on nBa package and i must say the Lakers aren't the only team that looks vastly improved...

Although the Lakers second team looks unbeatable, other teams around the league have also put together some great second teams. I think this will be the new trend for years to come..

Do NOT sleep on the:

Cavaliers
Rockets
Hornets
76ers
Pistons

My Rankings

Lakers
Rockets
Celtics
Cavaliers
Hornets

Lakers need to stop givin Odom chances and trade that dude.
Hes like that family member that has a lot of potential that always finds a way to fuck up.
At first i wanted him to succeed but now i just want him to get away from kobe so he can win a chip w/o shaq.

Lamar been in the league 8 going on 9 years now so i don't think hes gonna have an epiphany and all of a sudden change his ways now.
I say the Lakers should trade Odom for Vince Carter straight up.

Lakers
Vince isn't what he used to be but he still has a nice jumper which Lamar doesnt.
--With Gasol and Bynum in the paint and Kobe/VC driving to the rim the Lakers would benefit greatly with the threat of Kobe/VC still behind the arc.
If Kobe is having an off night who would you rather have that last shot? Odom or Carter?

Nets
Free up more cash for LeBron with Odom's expiring contract.
the Nets may want to hold onto Vince so that that Lebron doesnt goto a "Bad" team tho maybe this trade wont go through.

Elton Brand averaging 19.0pts 13.5 rebounds 1.5 blocks Image
Samuel Dalembert averaging 8pts 12.5 rebounds 3.0 blocks Image

i'm am NOT a fan of Lamar Odom but he looks good coming off the bench. He's a good fit right there (6th man) for this years Laker team.

Lakers should dumb what they can and get Iverson, A-I can get Kobe the ball, and handle the ball very well... he can also score 20+ a night with or without Kobe.. Rookie of the year, All Star MVP, League MVP, plays hard.. Iverson will be out of Denver almost immediately...

In any event, there are plenty of players around the league that would improve the lakers numbers in a trade for Lamar Odom, Vince wouldn't be one of them though- here's why...

Half Man Half Amazing is just that, he's only half of a man.. he shoots too much, bricks too much, plays with no emotion, too slow, no defense. The Lakers can't get him the ball unless he plays with the 2nd team, therefore he won't be Half Amazing because he has no one to dish him the ball on the fast break or back door alley oop.

Caron Butler, Chris Bosh, Caremello Anthony just to name a few...

--
Caron Butler, Chris Bosh, and Carmello Anthony score more than Odom,
Play more minutes than Odom
Shoots way better free throws than Odom
Butler shoots the 3 better than Odom
More steals than Odom
And more assist than Odom

Odom tends to make too many stupid mistakes, always has.. and isn't getting any better. This Laker team is only one good player from a world Championship, be it a forward, guard, or what have you. but don't sleep on trevor Ariza, his defense, excitement, and slashing is just what the doctor ordered.

Lakers need to sit tight unless we can get a mega steal deal like how we got Gasol
Bynum is gettin his game back,Ariza looks like he can contribute
Lakers lookin kinda deep, compared to the rest of the league, with The Goods leadin the 2nd squad, and its much improved from last year, dont know if its the chemistry,or the system but either way dont look for a fall off from last year

Gasol will be Gasol.. awesome in the regular season, a stiff in the post season.

Odom is coming off the becnh, as I mentioned before, its the best place for him if this team is going to win. He is best fit for the second team, it allows him to be the leader and takes all of the pressure off of him.

Ariza and Bynum has made this team a much better team in my opinion... Ariza is active this year and his shots are falling... Bynum is healthy...

I wouldn't expect nothing less out of Kobe, he doesn't have to take over early in games anymore.

7-0.

Yeah...I find myself pulling for Iverson and R. Wallace- I was hoping they would knock off Boston this year but Detroit looks kind of weak.. Rip and Prince aren't shooting too well... and they all seem scared of Iversons passes.
