anyone gots an escalade?

The motorcycle and car club scene in Southern Cal is growing and has globalized in recent years. They are not gangs, but many former gang members have got into them.

Ecsalades are one fo the most luxurious trucks out. I think the new infiniti truck is nice and the range rover too, but that Esco is roomey, very confortable, powerful and classy looking. I give it a 10. All other trucks are just a notch below (i.e. Navigator, Expedition, Yukon, etc).

True. But I can't believe how far all this has gone in ten years. There was a day no self respecting gangsta would have been caught dead in a half car/ half truck (i.e. suv) and ESPECIALLY on 30's. Honestly I can remember back in 81 when the first Lexus hit the streets of Cali and the gangstas said they was gay but the rich white folk bought them up and after that..

I think you meant 1991, but the popularity of SUVs like escalades started with the Suburban and Ford Explorer. I notice that the best SUV are mostly American companies. But again, the Esco is one of the best truck ever assembled.

1981 is the year I remember Lexus in the auto magazines making a play for the luxury car market. Back then you know Mercedes and Cadillac were strongest. This is way before SUV's became popular amongst the mainstream. Funny it took American auto manufacturers so long to get into the high end luxury SUV market.

I thought about one I saw a 02 used for 32k. But after I drove it I decided to save for a Denali XL, Range Rover, or 745

Did you know if you own an Escalade or any SUV that is more that 6,000 lbs, you can get a tax break, via George Bush. Just open your door and read the sticker on the side and it will tell you how many pounds your car is.

Why the tax break?

you get the tax break because SUV use more gas, and he comes from a pro-oil background, meaning that spending more money on gas is good for the oil industry, so he allows those that purchase brand new SUVs to right off certain expenses during tax time.

On another note, I found this info on the popularity of the Escalade on another forum:

USA today says-
So many twentysomething African-American men have bought the 2002 Cadillac Escalade sport-utility vehicle that the age of the typical Escalade owner is 12 years younger than the average Cadillac buyer's age, 62. Because of the rappers and professional athletes who have bought the SUV, the average family income for Escalade owners is $150,000, about $30,000 more than the typical Cadillac buyer.
About 6.5% of Cadillac buyers are black, but 19% of Escalade buyers are black.

Six players on the Golden State Warriors professional basketball team have an Escalade. Of the six top draft picks for the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos football teams, five bought Escalades with their new riches.

At least 10 rap songs, including one by Jennifer Lopez, mention Escalade. In music videos and live performances, rappers often drive Escalades.
Cadillac dealers say they sometimes toss teenagers out of showrooms because they spend too much time fawning over Escalades after school.
