RZA to Star in Fox “Gang Related” Pilot

Fox’s pilot season is venturing deeper into urban territories with “Gang Related,” a new series to star Grammy-winning rap/cinema producer RZA, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The crime drama stars Ramon Rodriguez (from “Charlie’s Angels”) as Ryan Lopez, a gang member sent as a mole to infiltrate the Gang Task Force of the San Francisco Police Department, only to find his loyalties slowly shift between his two opposing families. RZA plays Ryan’s law enforcement partner Cassius, joining SFPD after his paramour was gunned down to little reaction in the community.
After recurring appearances in Showtime’s “Californication,” and if the show becomes a hit with 20th Century Fox’s viewers, the Wu-Tang Clan member could find himself in his first regular leading TV role. “Gang Related’s” credits also bills Chris Morgan (from “Fast and Furious”) as co-executive producer and writer, with a cast that includes Sung Kang and Inbar Lavi from the same. The pilot will be directed by Allen Hughes.
