Suge Knight In Hospital from Pre-VMA Party Shooting Injuries

The founder of Death Row Records was in the driver’s seat when Tupac Shakur was killed in 1996 and became legend; Suge also took a hit in the leg at another MTV Video Music Awards pre-party hosted by Kanye West in 2005. On Sunday, he was rushed to a hospital along with two others who were injured at the 10AK club in Hollywood.

Sheriff’s Lt. John Corina said a lone gunman walked up to Knight and shot him, no words exchanged, with the whole episode caught on camera. He called it “a crime of opportunity.” The Los Angeles Times’ sources suggest that the shooting was probably connected to gang rivalries stemming from Knight’s affiliation with the Compton Bloods.

Knight is reported to have suffered two bullets to the stomach and arm. His family said in a statement to Revolt, “Suge is currently resting and has lost a lot of blood, he’s human. He’s done a lot of things for the community and the culture as a whole so we ask that you respect that.”
