Paramount is a city in Los Angeles County. It occupies a total area of 4.8 sq. miles, and The city was incorporated in 1957, and it was named after Paramount Boulevard, the main north-to-south street that extended through the city. The city is bordered by Compton and Lynwood to the west, South Gate and Downey to the north, Bellflower to the east and south, and Long Beach to the south.
Paramount is the home of the Zamboni. Frank Joseph Zamboni Jr. is the inventor of the ice resurfacing machine. Zamboni & Co. began and is still headquartered in Paramount. According to the 2008 US Census, the total population of Paramount is 53,145 people. 78.4% of residents are Hispanic, 28.5% of residents are White, 2.7% are Asian, and 11.8% are Black or African American.
39.7% of residents are foreign born. 9.1% of residents have a bachelor’s degree or higher and 55.8% of residents have a high school degree. 16.7% of families and 17.2% of individuals live below the poverty line.

Hey I was born in Paramount in 1984 but grew up in wyoming because my mom wanted a better life for me. But I was wondering if you knew what happened to the Charter Suburban Hospital. I was born there but I can not find any information on it. i am trying to go back to my roots, not finding much. But all these previous posts on here have me feeling grateful I didn’t grow up there.
