Eric Holder, the man accused in the 2019 killing of Nipsey Hussle was attacked early Tuesday morning in the Los Angeles County jail while awaiting to be escorted to court. Judge H. Clay Jacke informed the jury at about 9:47 a.m. that “based on unforeseen circumstances, we wont be in session today” and he excused the jury and ordered them to return to court Wednesday morning.
The jury was unaware why the judge excused them, but Deputy Public Defender Aaron Jansen informed the media outside the court that his client was physically assaulted and was unable to attend court.

We left a message with Jansen’s office, and over the phone he informed us Tuesday afternoon that Holder was attacked in a Los Angeles County holding talk that was holding 13 inmates.
Multiple inmates from that group initiated an assault on Holder that left one side of his head swollen and an eye suffering a subconjunctival hemorrhage (also known as bleeding in the eye) which caused the white part of the eye to become completely red, the result of a blood vessel bursting underneath the clear tissue that covers the white part of the eye.
Deputy District Attorney John McKinney is expected to rest his case after the coroner, Lawrence Nguyen, his 18th witness, testifies to the cause of death of Nipsey Hussle. Jansen is expected to recall witness Herman “Cowboy” Douglas and end his case with gang expert Robert Freeman.
