Two of the most celebrated Los Angeles Hispanic gangs from Los Angeles, 18th Street and MS-13, who have their gang roots in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles. They have been involved in a rivalry in the Rampart area for over 20 years. Many of the members of the Pico-Union based gangs immigrated illegally to Los Angeles with their parents as young children in the 1970s and 1980s and as they grew up and entered the California criminal justice system, many were deported to their parents’ home countries, mostly Mexico and El Salvador. This deportation is partly why these two gangs have formed throughout Central America including Honduras and Guatemala.

With more than 90 minutes of documentary footage, the cameras of Street Heat DVD take you into the battlefield to expose two of the most violent and powerful gangs in the world go to work.
