Hoodlife is based on real life events that occur in Oxnard, California in the year of 2006. A gang called Black Mafia Gang (BMG) located in Ventura County gives us a close and in-depth look at how they live as gang members on the streets. These are the young black males who live in America who are forced to turn to the streets for refuge. Their lives become a daily struggle to survive for what lies around the corner while living on the brutal streets. They find that the street is a place that they will encounter self-destruction, which leads to either incarceration or death.

Follow these young men as they encounter life on the streets. Some of these members attend school while others sell drugs in order to feed their families. The DVD follows gang members including John “Rocky” Lewis during 2006. Lewis, known as “Rocky” was incarcerated in 2008. He ordered a hit on Fred “Lil Scandal” Williams, another gang member. Rocky ordered a member of BMG to kill Lil Scandal. Rocky was sentenced to life in prison.
