A month after Chris Kelly, best known as “Mac Daddy,” was found unresponsive in his home, the cause of death was confirmed as due to drug overdose.

Paramedics responded to a call from the rapper’s home by his mother and found Kelly lying on the living room couch with “no life signs.” Hours after transport to a nearby hospital in Atlanta, he was pronounced dead. His mother told police that he had taken “speedballs,” a mixture of heroin and cocaine.

On Monday, a representative of the Fulton County Medical Examiner announced the results of their toxicology report, showing no signs of trauma or foul play, corroborating Donna Kelly Pratt’s story of drug abuse, but to an unidentified substance. Chris Kelly was one half of the Kriss Kross duo, famous for the song “Jump” and wearing their pants backwards throughout their performance careers. He was 34.
