Vallejo District Investigates Shooting Outside Lil Scrappy Concert

The December 6 shooting outside a concert headlined by Darryl “Lil Scrappy” Richardson continues under Greater Vallejo Recreation District General Manager Shane McAffee. Police reported that two women were injured in the parking lot outside the Dan Foley Cultural Center when a gun battle broke out.

Contra Costa Times reported that the GVRD facility had a rental application under Mardell Taylor for a Christmas party and toy drive, not a concert. Staffers admitted to a party with DJs and Lil Scrappy as host, while police collected flyers that a larger concert had been planned.

Lil Scrappy hadn’t shown until after the shooting due to a flight delay but a representative released a statement: “It is disgusting what happened […] On behalf of Lil Scrappy, we at Chinga Chang Records will be assisting with costs related to the shooting. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim who lost her life to such a senseless and heinous crime and hope for immediate justice to these terrorists.”
