1 shot, injured in apparent gang-related attack

ANAHEIM – A man was shot and injured during an apparent gang-related attack on Thursday night in Anaheim, police said.

At about 5:20 p.m., someone flagged down a patrol officer near Sycamore Street and East Street and told him there was a shooting nearby, Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.

The officer was sent to the area of Rose and Cypress streets, where he found a 20-year-old man lying in front of a home in the 300 block of North Rose Street, Martinez said.

The man, whose name has not been released, appeared to have been shot an unknown number of times. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for possible life-threatening injuries.
