Two teenage boys were wounded Wednesday night in the third gang-related shooting to break out on the 2500 block of Farrington Way in East Palo Alto since May, according to police. One victim was shot a few months earlier.

In the latest incident, two boys 16 and 17 years old were standing in front of a home at 2543 Farrington Way just before 11 p.m. when a silver Honda stopped nearby and a man got out and began firing, police said. The boys were taken to the hospital for treatment and are expected to survive.

Eleven days earlier, two boys 18 and 19 years old were injured in a shooting next door at 2535 Farrington Way. Two gunmen reportedly walked up and fired as many as 30 rounds into the house, according to police.

The teenagers were treated for non- life-threatening wounds.

In May, the 17-year-old injured Wednesday night was hit twice in the foot during a drive-by shooting on the same block, East Palo Alto police Detective Angel Sanchez said.

“We think they’re gang-related,” Sanchez said, adding that the victims are Norteño gang members.
