An Arizona cop accused of sexually assaulting a woman in San Diego while off duty has pleaded not guilty to eight felony charges, including rape of an intoxicated person.
Jared Elkins, a 33-year-old officer for the Yuma Police Department, pleaded not guilty Monday in connection to an alleged Sept. 14 rape in San Diego, where the mother of a woman told police that the off-duty cop had raped her daughter, KGTV reports.
The relationship between the victim and Elkins, who is married, is unclear and a criminal protective order has been issued for the woman, who did not attend Monday’s court hearing.
